Hugely popular from the 1930s to the '60s, the Aristocratic restaurant chain served classic diner food at as many as 12 locations across the Lower Mainland.
The Granville and Broadway location, pictured here in 1951, is now the site of Chapters bookstore. A replica of the Aristocratic neon sign hangs in the Chapters front window.
